INGROWING TOENAIL COMPLETE KIT

An ingrowing toenail can cause a lot of discomfort in your daily routine, especially when wearing tight shoes. Now, you can treat it yourself, at home, and help to prevent it getting worse.

SYMPTOMS

OF AN INGROWING TOENAIL

It often starts with intense pressure between the edge of the nail and the skin, causing discomfort and redness. These first mild symptoms can quickly worsen if the nail is left untreated. Therefore, it is recommended to use the Scholl Ingrowing Toenail Complete Kit at the first signs and symptoms of an ingrowing toenail.

TREAT FIRST SIGNS IN 2 SIMPLE STEPS

The new Scholl Ingrowing Toenail Complete Kit is a do-it-yourself solution that can be applied in two steps (in order to relieve pain and get rid of ingrowing toenails).

STEP 1: COOLING AEROSOL SPRAY

When sprayed onto the affected area of the nail and surrounding skin it cools to help soothe. You can apply the spray more than once a day; just make sure to leave at least one hour in between treatments.

STEP 2: TOENAIL STRAIGHTENING CLIP

Apply one clip to the affected nail, when it has a length of 2mm. Leave it on for up to one week, before re-applying a new one. It can take up to 6 weeks until the nail has grown past the area of discomfort. The clip can also be used for occasional relief, such as overnight.

CAUSES & SOURCES

Ingrowing toenails are most likely to occur on the big toe. The reason is that this toe is the one that is most under pressure inside shoes – both from the sides and from above. Whenever you wear very tight shoes, your toes are pressed closely together. This and cutting your toenails into an oval shape instead of square can make them grow in even more easily.

HOW TO PREVENT

INGROWING TOENAILS

You can take precautions against the main causes of ingrowing toenails on your own. For example:

• Choose shoes that are not too tight or too high-heeled.

• Give your toenails a proper trimming to a square shape.

• Do not cut the nails too short.

• Change shoes from day to day, because some of your shoes might fit tighter than others.

• It is a good idea to wear open shoes, flip-flops or to walk barefoot when at home.

BEWARE OF

THESE TOOLS

Nail scissors, nail files, tweezers or even scalpels are potentially fast, but inappropriate utensils to find relief. They are likely going to worsen the problem and do not take away the discomfort in the long run.

You can renew it after one week or if you plan to do high impact sports.

The clip can be applied to various nail sizes, so long as the clip can be attached,
which requires a nail length of at least 2mm. Usually, the ingrowing toenail occurs on the large toe.
